. It’s hard not to turn on the news without reading about one or more of the issues we’ll cover in this course, and they all have significant implications to the practice of real estate:

  • Sex and real estate: sexual harassment and discrimination
  • Assistance animals and the disabled
  • Tax law changes and the impact on real estate

This three-hour course will update licensees on current issues and trends impacting their clients to help them better serve clients concerned about the current tax law, federal and Arizona fair housing protections and rights for the protected classes of disability and sex, and provides resources for low- and moderate-income households to find and finance affordable housing in Arizona.

Course highlights include:

  • How sexual harassment and sexual discrimination impact property managers, landlords, tenants, licensees, brokers, and clients
  • Implications of tax changes introduced in 2018 for real estate buyers and sellers, particularly SALT taxes, mortgage interest deductions, and home equity financing
  • Current solutions in housing and financing for low- to moderate-income households, such as Arizona’s HOME Plus Down Payment Assistance Program and the Pathway to Purchase program
  • Distinguishing between service animals and emotional support animals, their implications for property management, and how concept of “reasonable accommodation” may apply to each
